How I work

As a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered qualified psychotherapist I am trained in a number of therapeutic models that I apply depending on each clients individual needs.  Simply put I work transparently and collaboratively using the most appropriate approach for you rather than follow a prescribed single theoretical model.*  Therapy should be a collaboration based on a mutually trusting relationship between the therapist and the client.

I am governed by the BACP professional standards which are designed to ensure that counsellors work at all times to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their clients. I also have monthly independent supervision sessions to provide oversight of my client work which further safeguards the interests and safety of my clients.

I work face to face, on-line or by telephone.  I will typically see clients for a weekly session which lasts 50 mins.  Sessions are fixed to be at the same time, to suit your schedule. Weekend and evening slots are available.

How much does it cost?

Individual sessions last 50 minutes and cost £60.

Payment is made by bank transfer, the details of which will provided to you in advance of your session.  If you need to cancel or move a session then 48 hours notice is appreciated – if not I may need to charge you for any sessions missed.  You will be able to contact me directly by telephone or email.

If you think counselling could help you, please phone or email me for an introductory chat, and we can arrange an initial appointment to see how we can work together.

* For more detail on my theoretical approach: I follow an Integrative Humanistic approach that is relationally focused, and will often draw on aspects of Attachment theory, Person Centred and Psychodynamic theory, as well as aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Theory.
